ものごとの興隆と終息を呼吸のように繰り返し、幾星霜を越えて循環してきました。

二十四節気を巡る。
24 solar terms cycle
古来より、日本には美しい四季があり、陰陽五行に基づいて暮らしを営んできました。
建築に、生け花に、庭に、床の間に。
FRACTUSのコンセプト「六識」に添って、二十四の節切りの中で見つけた、各地に宿る東洋の精神を綴ります。
Since ancient times, Japan has had four beautiful seasons and has lived a life based on Yin Yang and the Five Elements. Architecture, flower arrangement, gardens, and alcoves. それを古代中国の作庭用語で、「園林」と言うそうです。園林とは、理想郷のこと。

生きること自体に、困難が伴っていた時代。
人々は、五穀豊穣を願い、生活のすべてに祈りがありました。
神仏への祈りはやがて言霊を伴う和歌となり、神楽となり、祭礼として完成されていきました。
A time when living itself was accompanied by difficulties. People wished for a rich harvest and prayed in every aspect of their lives. Prayers to the gods and Buddha eventually became waka poems accompanied by kotodama, then kagura, and then completed as festivals.

蚕を育て、麻を績み、糸を染め、衣を織る。
その土地で採取できる薬草で着物を作っていたころ、着物は人々にとって、着る薬でもありました。
They raise silkworms, weave linen, dye thread, and weave clothing. Back when kimonos were made from medicinal herbs that could be harvested locally, kimonos were also used as medicine for people to wear.

栗の木を伐り出し、縄で縛り、藁を葺き、土を被せる。
弥生時代の人々が暮らした竪穴住居跡は、土蔵の中にいるように快適な室温調整機能を保っていました。
原初の洞穴は、祈りと葬送の場であると共に、人々を護る壁となっていたのです。
A chestnut tree is cut down, tied with rope, thatched with straw, and covered with soil. The remains of the pit dwellings where people lived during the Yayoi period maintained a temperature control function that made them as comfortable as if they were inside a storehouse. The CAVE served as a place for prayer and funerals, as well as a wall to protect the people.

里に生きる人々は太陽に豊饒を願い、海に生きる人々は星に航海の安全を祈りました。
日本の豊かな発酵文化は、暮らしの中で何とか大事な食料を保存し、健やかに生きるために生み出されてきた知恵の結晶です。

創刊号は「山水」をテーマに、冬至から夏至を巡り、各地の六識を尋ねます。
